My name is Tony, I am forty two years old and I have worked in the car industry for 23 years, mostly replacing windscreens not repairing
them. Having worked at MG Rover for such a long period of time it felt like a huge risk buying a franchise, however after looking around
at what was available it has been the best decision I have ever made.
I purchased my Windscreen Repair UK franchise in May 2005 and started trading on 1st June
2005 after completing my training. It’s reassuring to always know that you have the help and support as and when you require it – if you
require it.
The work is a lot of hours in the summer, not hard, just long, but obviously during the winter months it is a much shorter day. Despite
all this it is nice to be able to work the hours and weeks I want to. I have found it very worthwhile not only financially but on a personal
level. The financial rewards are there if you are willing to commit to the hours.
After leaving MG Rover I was told by many recruitment agencies that I would struggle to match my salary. I achieved my Rover salary in
eight months! It is very rare that a new business can be profitable from day one.
So is all the commitment worthwhile – the answer is most definitely yes!
